Furi knives are made stronger with a thicker blade and blade-handle joins than their competitors. The high grade Japanese high carbon stainless steel blade and two handle halves are pressed from a sheet, then welded all around with the same material, then heat treated. The knife then becomes truly one piece (no welds remain after heat treatment and polishing: that's why they can't be seen), but with a hollow handle for balance. It's a proven method, with the original Furi knives still going strong in kitchens all over the world after 20 years! Some Furi Knives also have additional special features. Scallops (or Grantons) reduce friction during cutting by forming air pockets between the food and blade for less clinging and a quicker and easier slice. Furi's Santoku Knife combines a Western cook's knife with an Eastern chopper for extra versatility. Unique handle locks into the hand for secure grip.
